I will be honest, I feel like media outlets (including yours) calling Hong "far left" are contributing to the problem and losing the plot. As you admitted during this discussion, the gov candidate platforms are really not all that different from one another. And the policies Hong and others are campaigning on are actually common sense, FDR-style principles. It's just that the Republicans have moved so far right starting in the 80s, that they have dragged Democrats to the right, so anyone who didn't move right is now framed as radical. It would be nice if you could focus on the policies instead of the labels when describing things, because these shortcuts aren't doing any favors for the Dems or for your readers. The only "far" anything in this race is Tom Tiffany. His radicalism needs to be hammered on over and over if we are to win, instead of painting it as far right vs far left, which it really isn't.
Labels are toxic. They mean nothing, triggering thinking shortcuts based on individuals' personal feelings and bypassing discussions of important policies & priorities. I beg you to set an example - STOP using labels. ID candidates by the policies they support or oppose, who has endorsed or not, who is funding their campaigns.
Upside down horshoe theory is whats happening, bottom of both sides meet(rus. prop.), causes chaos and confusion, so moderates or any not at that bottom area(even when we see and are for many), tend to move up the shoe to moderate out if the chaos to help look for actual facts! We are in a gen. change, and the state has highest older pop., and that gen. is fed up with being told they're only good for there money and prop., also middle aged people such as myself, have to be more moderate, because we have family older and younger…huge complexities! Also majority of us older people know history and youngsters at times lacking thar knowledge! Ty.!
