I think that shows more that he has internalized republican talking points than it does about Hong supporters. does he really think the Republicans aren't just going to call Crowley a communist and Milwaukee elite? . Leftists run on what they believe. Moderates think they have to hide their politics because they don't believe in their own ideas
I'll have to go back and see what fell out of my mouth, but I do want to emphasize that I make most of my points from an analytical standpoint and not personal opinions about the candidates themselves — mostly because they're all good people who'd be exponentially better than Toxic Tom. And in this case, I'm fully loaded with experiences of how Madison/Milwaukee politicians don't close the deal in making a good case with voters up north (Barrett, Burke, Chvala, Loftus)... and how Madison/Milwaukee politicians DO make a good case (Baldwin, Doyle, Kohl). So my point here is that Fran can indeed win in rural Wisconsin, but it won't be done in the same way you win a primary. Trust me, she's got the goods, so long as her team has a strategy for being relentlessly positive (even as it rips Tom Tiffany to shreds) and focused on solutions for voters' top issues.
